We use an innovative approach called RAVE®. It’s a second language acquisition system designed to enhance children’s learning experience and get great results. RAVE® is about language acquisition, not language learning. Language learning involves conscious and often extensive grammatical rules and sometimes tedious drilling. Whereas language acquisition involves a natural subconscious process focused on meaningful interactions and good examples to explain the meaning of new language.

The system recreates and supports children as they return to the conditions that they learned their native language. In doing so, children return to directing their own learning experience, engage in a wide range of exciting activities and learn a language out of pleasure not obligation.

It brings together a unique blend of components in four distinct areas to create an efficient and smart learning environment. Its scope includes the relationship between the child, parent, teacher and the physical learning environment. RAVE® stands for; (1) Relationship, (2) Attitude, (3) Vision and (4) Environment.

  • Relationship: The objective is simple; recreate the conditions similar to those experienced in early childhood while they learned their first language and allow the child’s innate predisposition for language acquisition do it’s job.
  • Attitude: children are expert learners and are very eager to learn once they are given freedom to explore and develop their ideas. To capitalise on this, we as teachers and parents must learn to trust them in the decisions they make and permit them to define their learning direction and trajectory. Education is a dance, not a destination.
  • Vision: The world, technology and the marketplace are changing and will continue to change in an unprecedented and extraordinary way. In the near future, a focus on proficiency in reading, writing and arithmetic will not be enough. They will become byproducts of a new focus on creativity, critical thinking, problem solving and collaborative skills.
  • Environment: The classroom is a place where children can develop an enriched view of the world, a view in which they believe they have something to offer and the power to make it happen. We encourage children to offer ideas for the development of their physical space  and to become accustomed to the joy of those ideas leading to a positive impact for everyone.
